形態特徵

Plants to 100 cm tall, with distinct slender leafy stem attached to a basal pseudobulb. Pseudobulbs conic-ovoid, 5-7 cm tall, 2-4 cm thick, greenish, glabrous, lustrous. Stems 40-60 cm long, covered by leaf sheaths.
Leaves 5-8, nearly distichous, lanceolate or oblong, 40-50 cm long, 5-9 cm wide, upper ones larger, apex acute, base cuneate, decurrent.
Raceme arising from base of pseudobulb, peduncle ca. 50 cm long, 5-8 mm in diam., base sheathed; bracts lanceolate, 1.5-3 cm long, 7-9 mm wide; pedicel and ovary 2.5-3.5 cm long, glabrous. Flowers 4-20, yellow, 5-6 cm across; sepals subequal, elongateoblong or oblanceolate, 4-4.3 cm long, 12 mm wide, acute or obtuse at apex, slightly contracted at base, lateral sepals slightly shorter and oblique; petals falcate-blanceolate, 3.5-4 cm long, 10-12 mm wide; lip tubular, base embracing column, obtriangular, ca. 3 cm long, 2.5-2.8 cm wide, obscurely 3-lobed, with brownish red margins and longitudinally stripes on disc, apical margin crisped; spur conic-cylindric, 6-9 mm long; column yellowish white, 1.8-2 cm long, curved, free from lip, with long hairs on ventral side; anther fleshy, cordate, 4 mm long; pollinia flattened ovoid, 2 mm long, tips attached to flat caudicle; stigma semiorbicular; rostellum broad, obtuse or rounded at apex.
Capsules pendulous, fusiform, 5 cm long.

分布

台灣 : common in forests, 1000-2000 m, throughout.
世界 : Widely distributed from the Himalaya, eastward to China, Japan, the Philippines and through Thailand and Malaysia to Indonesia.
